Back again ….The Conference Scholarship Program has been created to enable faculty to explore current issues, share best practices and advance their knowledge in teaching and learning. The scholarship program supports participation in selected teaching and learning conferences and to date has supported 8 faculty to each attend an event. Each scholarship recipient will have the cost of registration, travel, accommodation and meals covered (in accordance with Sheridan’s Travel Policy) up to $1500.00. As the sponsors of this program, all eligible expenses will be reimbursed by NILES. There will be a total of five faculty sponsored through Fall 2013.
This year’s eligible conferences are:
- ISSOTL, International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, October 2 – 5, Raleigh, North Carolina
- Teaching Professor Technology Conference, October 4 – 6, Atlanta, Georgia
- EDUCAUSE IT Conference, October 15 – 18, Anaheim, California
In addition, applicants are encouraged to self-select a conference they believe will contribute to and enhance their teaching and learning practice.
Applicants must be full-time post-probationary faculty and the professor’s Associate Dean must support the scholarship application. Successful applicants will be expected to share their conference learning with faculty and colleagues.
