We are pleased to welcome Marla Terreberry-Portfilio to the role of Manager, Human Rights and Workplace Harassment within the Centre for Respectful and Healthy Workplaces at Sheridan.
Marla comes to us from the Human Rights and Equity Office of Brock University, where she has been working to resolve complaints and conflict on matters of discrimination, harassment and bullying since 2008. Her work at Brock included acting as an institutional resource on a number of standing and ad-hoc committees. In addition, she has served on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association for the Prevention of Discrimination and Harassment in Higher Education (CAPDHHE) since 2009.
Marla’s academic credentials include her Social Service Worker designation and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and she anticipates completing her Masters of Education in June, 2015, from Brock University. Her research interests include: Critical Race Theory, the experiences of marginalized faculty in post-secondary institutions and organizational change.
