As part of Sheridan’s ongoing commitment to quality assurance and best practices, institutional policies and procedures are regularly reviewed. Sheridan’s grading scheme is currently under review. A working group has come together to review the literature, consult with stakeholders, develop policy and procedure and present this information to the executive. The committee members are:

Carol Appleby – committee lead (faculty, CTL/FAHCS)

Jean Callaghan (faculty, FAHCS)

Emma Dickson (OTR)

Stephanie Dimech (AD, CTL)

Kevin Forest (faculty, FAST)

Karen Grant-Jaeckle (International)

Lisa Mendez (faculty, FAHCS)

Cathy Millett (OTR)

Danielle Palombi (Library and learning services)

Matt Rempel (AD, Student Services)

Marc Richard (faculty, FAAD)

Elaine Ursel (faculty, CTL)

Stage one was a literature review and environmental scan. Stage two, as part of the consultation process, is a survey. The survey has 5 questions and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. As a stakeholder, we invite you to participate in this survey. The survey will remain open until March 13, 2015, 6 p.m.

You can further engage in discussion about the grading policy and procedure in focus groups happening after break week. Once the survey is complete, the data will be analyzed and will be available through the local academic councils (LAC).

You voice is important. Please take a moment to complete the survey.

Thank-you,

Carol, on behalf of the committee.
