How are Employees affected?

Employees who have access to SA function such as faculty members and OTR staff will also see the link to the SA application. The overall look and feel of the applications has not changed.

What do I need to do?

If you have “favorites” inside either application, your favorites for HR functions and SA functions will be listed in both applications. The HR favorites will only work in HR. The SA favorites will only work in SA. You should delete the HR favorites from the list in SA and delete the SA favorites from the list in HR.

Refer to the (PDF) PeopleSher Split Important Information document posted on AccessSheridan for instructions on updating your favorites.

How are Students affected after the split?

Students are not affected. They will continue to access myStudentCentre via AccessSheridan as they did previously. The overall look and feel of the system has not changed.

What is a Split and why did we do this?

Sheridan implemented the PeopleSoft Student Administration and HR/Payroll applications in a single integrated database known as SA/HR. Oracle has since changed their support model of these products toward separate support models, meaning the two products must be split and each reside in its own database. Now that the applications are separated they can evolve independently allowing for individual maintenance schedules, reduced size and complexity, and increased data security. The split is also a pre-requisite for future upgrades to the HR/Payroll application.
