Deadline for Academic Software Requests for the Fall Semester is April 15
A reminder to program coordinators, faculty and instructors that requests for academic software that need to be packaged and delivered over Sheridan’s network and/or in a multi-user lab environment must be submitted to IT by April 15. Software requesters should note that their dean must approve all software requests and budget for the purchase of the software licenses.

Support for Office 2010 Ends in August
As announced last July, Sheridan will be ending support for Office 2010 at the end of the 2014/15 academic year (August 2015). Faculties with curriculum tied to Office 2010 are advised to ensure that courses are updated to support Office 2013 for the start of the 2015/16 academic year (September 2015).
Getting Office 2013
- Office 2013 is available on all lab computers, classroom podium PCs, and is included on the Windows disk image used for Sheridan’s employee laptops
- All Sheridan employees can download Office 2013 via AccessSheridan (look for the link “software installation” under the heading “Software for Sheridan Laptops & Workstations”)
- Home use versions of Office 2013 can be purchased at a discounted price from OnTheHub. Go to AccessSheridan and look for the link “OnTheHub Software Acquisition” under the heading “Discounted Software for Sheridan Staff”.
