A team of music theatre students, faculty and staff took part in Oakville’s Terry Fox run yesterday, raising over $2,200 for cancer research in the process. Ward 2 Councillor and run organizer, Pam Damoff, welcomed the team and invited them to sing the national anthem before the run’s start. Mayor Rob Burton was also on hand, and referenced the Canadian Music Theatre Project’s upcoming production of Marathon of Hope in his opening remarks.
“The community embraced our team and many photographers were eager to snap our group,” says Michael Rubinoff, a team member and Associate Dean in FAAD. “All along the route organizers thanked Sheridan for being a part of the run. It was a proud day for all of us and we hope this will become a new Sheridan/Oakville tradition.”
