From Friday, June 19 at 11 p.m. until June 20 at 1 a.m., IT staff will be upgrading software on our internet router at the Hazel McCallion Campus. This software upgrade paves the way to enabling automatic failover* to the internet router at the Oakville campus in the event our primary router (at the HMC campus) were to fail.
While this work is being done, internet traffic will be routed through our internet router at the Trafalgar Road Campus, however, there will be several brief outages throughout the service period as everything is moved over to the router in Oakville.
*IT staff will be enabling automatic failover of the internet router beginning the evening of June 29. More details will be communicated in next week’s Insider.
Service Impact
During the 2-hour upgrade period, some services will be either unavailable or up and down intermittently. These services include:
- VPN (complete outage)
- Internet connectivity at the Job Connect Clark-west location (complete outage)
- Home office connections (complete outage)
- Campus internet access (intermittent outages)
