With mixed joy and regret, the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology (FAST) hereby announces the retirement of Peggy Patton, our long-standing Operations Manager.

Peggy has had a significant history at Sheridan which started with her own post-secondary studies. After her graduation, she worked in the Human Resources Department for two years, then took a hiatus from life at Sheridan.

In 1985 Peggy returned to Sheridan to the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology where she worked as Support Staff. She was offered a sponsored student position in Applied Computing and subsequently moved into Tech Support. In 1998 Peggy became an Assistant to the Dean and then carved a path for the role she has maintained to present day as the Faculty’s Operations Manager.

Peggy brought determination and perfectionism to each of the roles she’s filled at Sheridan. Her attention to detail and critical eagle-eye have been instrumental in the evolution of FAST. Her generous and kind nature brought spirit and energy to the office but we will look forward to starting meetings on time in her absence!

We wish Peggy health and happiness in her retirement. From re-decorating her winter home in Florida, to carefully planned spa treatments, Peggy is bound to keep herself busy. Who knows, she may even pick up umping again or channel her inner Chris Evert.

Please join us in recognizing Peggy’s long-standing contribution to the Sheridan Community.

Date:               Thursday, September 17th
Time:               3 – 5pm
Location:        Lower cafeteria – Trafalgar Campus

If you’re unable to make it but would like to sign Peggy’s retirement card, please visit any of the Faculty reception desks at E200 (at Trafalgar), or B104, B204 or C264 (at Davis).

We look forward to seeing Peggy again on July 4th to celebrate her birthday. And we’ll expect regular calls to give her updates about how we’re managing without her.

Congratulations Peggy, we wish you a very happy retirement.
