Student Affairs is happy to announce the launch of our first ever Accessible Learning (AL) Virtual Community for Faculty on Slate. This VC is a resource for faculty that clarifies the academic accommodation process, the role of Accessible Learning, academic accommodations in the classroom, and tips and strategies for teaching students with disabilities.
Sheridan faculty have asked us for easy to access resources and information on supporting students with disabilities, and using the existing Slate network seemed an obvious platform to use. This Slate VC is designed as a starting point, and we’re hoping it’s the first step in a larger support network for faculty.
Faculty can login to Slate from the Sheridan homepage. The blue tab at the top of the page has a dropdown box named “Select a course”. Click on this dropdown box and a list of courses will appear. Click on the course “Accessible Learning – 222273_VC”.
You will be prompted to complete a survey once you’ve finished viewing the site. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Csoli, Manager of Accessible Learning.
