Richard Finch is retiring from Sheridan

After 11 years as an integral and valued member of the Sheridan community, Richard Finch, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies, has decided to retire from Sheridan. Richard joined Sheridan as a Professor in the School of Community and Liberal Studies. Richard then took on a series of progressive leadership roles starting as an Associate Dean within the School of Community and Liberal Studies then becoming the Dean of Workforce Development, and since 2010 he has been the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies.

Richard will be greatly missed by students and colleagues alike. He will be remembered for his commitment to student success, his passion for teaching, and his unwavering support of faculty and staff. Richard is recognized as a calm and thoughtful leader who demonstrates compassion, caring and kindness in all his interactions.

In the upcoming weeks, we will start the recruitment process for the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies. Richard’s last day at Sheridan will be Friday, January 8, 2016. Details of a reception to celebrate Richard’s accomplishments and contributions to Sheridan will follow.

Please join me in extending best wishes to Richard as he starts an exciting new chapter in his life.
