Visit the Gallery, AA wing, Trafalgar Campus for an interesting new exhibition – Sheridan Creative Campus TypeForming: Carl Dair.
The exhibit provides background on the life and accomplishments of Carl Dair, Canadian graphic designer, type designer, writer and teacher who created Canada’s first Latin alphabet typeface in 1967. As part of the Creative Campus TypeForming event, the exhibit accompanied the premiere at Sheridan, on Sept 21, 2015, of an important film for type designers, typographers and educators in Canada and abroad. Carl Dair at Enschedé: the last days of metal type is a rare look at the techniques of metal typemaking and type form, and explores the significance of understanding the old ways for students and type designers today. The film will be on view at the exhibit.
The exhibition runs from September 21 – October 9, 2015. Gallery hours: Monday to Thursday: 10am to 7pm: Friday: 10am to 5pm. For more information contact: Lynne Murray, lynne.murray@sheridancollege.ca
