Sheridan has been featured not once, but twice for its sustainability efforts in the 2015 Sustainable Campus Index report.
The report is published by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) and highlights top performers in various areas, as measured by the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS). The report also features unique and innovative projects and initiatives from various North American institutions that have participated in STARS.
Sheridan received a Silver STARS rating in April, 2015 and was chosen by AASHE to be featured in the report for its:
- energy target of below 100 ekWh/m2/year for new buildings; and
- Repair Café initiative that aims to fix items rather than throwing them out.
If you’re interested in learning more or participating in a Repair Café, there will be an event at Trafalgar Campus tomorrow! You find out the details here.
