Launching this Friday!
Only four more days until we officially launch this year’s United Way Campaign. An unlucky day you say? Sheridan president Jeff Zabudsky disagrees! Watch this year’s campaign video and find out all about the United Way, how to make an online or paper pledge and for information about upcoming events here. Remember, we have excellent prizes for pledging and the earlier you pledge, the more opportunities you have to win.
Silent Auction
The United Way silent auction (open to employees) is always a big hit, but to make it successful we need your help. Please consider donating an item to the auction. Get creative! We’ve had fly fishing lessons, culinary experiences, cottage getaways, artwork, cooking utensils…you name it! Please email nancy.heath@sheridancollege.ca with a description of the item and she will coordinate with you to get the item listed on the auction site.
Bidders: The silent auction opens for bidding on Wednesday, Nov. 18 and closes on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at noon. Good luck!
Toonie Tuesday
Our ‘change for change’ drive is back on Tuesday, November 17. Employees and students are encouraged to make a donation to our United Way piggy banks on campus. Instead of throwing your coffee change back in your pocket, send it our way for United Way.
Spaghetti Lunches
Break (garlic) bread with your department/teams at one of Sheridan’s United Way Spaghetti Lunches. We encourage our employees to buy a delicious plate of food, contributed generously by Chartwells, and take a moment to connect with your teams while supporting the campaign. For only $5 you will get a plate of spaghetti with veggie or meat sauce, garlic bread, salad and a drink.
This year, Spaghetti Lunches will take place at Davis and Trafalgar on Thursday, November 19. Employees and students are welcome to participate.
Dinner for Two…Anywhere in the World
Always a popular contest in our community…in fact, the ticket for the second prize was purchased at Sheridan last year and was given to a family member as a stocking stuffer. The first place winner from the Oakville community traveled to the Galapagos Islands to enjoy dinner with her daughter!
