As we enter the second full week of Sheridan’s United Way campaign, we look forward to recruiting more bidders for the online silent auction, which wraps up on Wednesday, Nov. 25, and the continuation of pledging.
So far, we’ve raised approximately $4700 for the auction, which is almost 50% of our auction fundraising goal. We have 73 items, generously donated by the Sheridan community, including:
- Four sets of Toronto Maple Leafs tickets
- Day off to volunteer at your favourite charity
- ‘Paint a bedroom’ package (paint and labour included)
- Bread-making workshop
- ‘Thyme Savor’ desserts for your next dinner party
- Cottage getaway on Lake Huron in the spring or fall
- Family/individual/portrait session
- Ceramics knife set
- Glass ornaments by alumna Tara Marsh
- Paintings and photographs
- Dell laptops
- Gym memberships
- Dining experiences
If you haven’t yet been on the site, check it out here and please consider placing a bid. If you’ve already bid, expect a flurry of action on Wednesday morning and be prepared to outbid your colleagues. Remember, all proceeds go to the United Way.
We want to send a big thank you to Chartwells for generously providing the spaghetti lunches for the fundraising events at Davis and Trafalgar on Nov. 19. The staff in the cafeterias did a fabulous job putting together a delicious meal and helping replenish the food throughout the event (we sold out of spaghetti at Trafalgar!) The events were a huge success.
Here are some photos from the events:

Stay tuned for the next edition of the Uniter for information about how your donations are helping people in our communities.
Thank you for your support Sheridan!
