Holiday trees will be going up around Sheridan campuses this week. Help us decorate these trees by donating pairs of mittens, scarves and hats for children and adults who are in need this holiday season.
We ask that when you are out doing your shopping, pick up a pair of mittens. Using the clothespins provided on the basket near each tree, hang your pair of mittens on the tree. When each tree is full, we will collect them and donate them to a local charity.
Last year 279 pairs of mittens, 30 hats, 20 scarves, 1 knitted blanket and 1 pair of slippers were pinned to or placed under the trees around campus. The items were divided equally and dropped off at Kerr Street Ministries in Oakville and The Salvation Army, Family Life Resource Centre in Brampton.
If you prefer, we will also be doing a toy drive. Donate an unwrapped toy and place it under the tree before December 15th. We will be partnering with the Halton and Peel Regional Police and the Toys for Tots Campaign.
The trees can be found in the following locations:
Trafalgar – in front of the Security desk in the B-wing or in front of the President’s Office
Davis – Main entrance / Welcome Centre
HMC – Atrium across from the Welcome Desk
STC – Main entrance across from the Welcome Desk
