I would like to welcome James Humphreys as our Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies. James brings to Sheridan 18 years of experience in the College sector. He has both the understanding and familiarity with the College environment from his experience as a full time professor, a program coordinator, an eLearning faculty advisor, and as an Associate Dean. He has a broad range of experience in justice and wellness studies, community studies, health sciences as well as science and technology programs.
James has demonstrated his commitment to excellence in academic programming, but also understands the complexities of today’s classroom. His unique combination of teaching, management and leadership experience combined with his interpersonal skills, will enable him to envision new opportunities together with the FAHCS community. He has also been involved in provincial initiatives that include the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT) and the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO).
Graduating with the B.Sc. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Guelph in 1991, James continued his studies in the field of Molecular Biology and Genetics and graduated in 1996 with his Ph.D from the University of Guelph.
