Contractors will be performing proactive removal of Asbestos-Containing Material in some of our Davis and Trafalgar buildings. This work is scheduled to take place between December 21 and January 3, 2016 to minimize the disruption to our community. The majority of the project scope occurs in unoccupied spaces and only affects a few of our buildings. Direct communication will be sent to any occupants whose space will be affected.
Asbestos-Containing Material will be removed in strict compliance with the legislated requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Worksites will be fully enclosed, clearly marked with signage and only accessible by authorized personnel with protective equipment.
This work will be closely monitored by a third-party environmental consultant who will carry out air testing at each site once work is completed, to ensure they are fully safe for occupancy. Upon completion of the work, a summary report by the consultant will be posted at the entrance of each site where work has been completed.
