Sheridan’s Manager of Sustainable Energy Systems, Herb Sinnock, has been nominated for a 20/20 Leadership Award by the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA). The OSEA is a lead advocate, facilitator and catalyst for sector transformation and the transition to a more sustainable energy economy.
At Sheridan, Herb is responsible for the implementation of the ambitious plan known as Mission Zero, which includes the Integrated Energy and Climate Master Plan (IECMP) and Zero Waste initiatives. This plan’s objectives include: using 50% less energy by 2020, generating at least 60% fewer greenhouse gas emissions, creating a campus-wide energy culture, and using Sheridan as a ‘living laboratory’ to develop competitive sustainability, and energy and climate curricula.
Herb and his team have been closely involved in planning for the new HMC building, which will be one of the top energy-performing buildings in North American and Sheridan’s new standard for building construction. Read more about the build here.
Winners will be announced at the Powering Prosperity Awards Dinner on January 28. Click here to read more about the OSEA and the nominees for this award.
Congratulations, Herb!
