On Monday, February 29th, the School of Public Safety hosted the Fourth Annual Ontario Provincial Police Symposium. The event was filled to capacity with over 115 students participating. The symposium provided information on front-line policing and other community safety career opportunities available with the O.P.P.
The morning included Physical Fitness Testing, Defensive Tactics and a Healthy Lifestyle/ Recruiting workshop. During the afternoon, students were engaged in mentoring sessions led by Senior Officers, Canine Officers and Constables new to the career of public safety.
Congratulations to Police Foundation faculty, Tanya Philp and Jessica McLean who organized this extremely successful event. The OPP recruiters were very impressed with the knowledge, skills and character of all of our student participants.
