At Sheridan, we have a long history of providing co-operative education work-term opportunities for our students. With close to 45 programs with Co-op and nearly 2,000 students on a work-term each year, our students have many incredible opportunities to grow and learn from quality work experiences.
It’s no surprise – but our students do us proud. They are exceptional in every way and stand out in the crowd compared to other institutes in both Ontario and Canada.
Shauna-Kay Jones, a student in the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, recently was awarded the CAFCE (Canadian Association of Co-operative Education) Co-op Student of the Year award for 2015. Learn more about Shauna-Kay in the Sheridan Curiosities Blog and recent media exposure celebrating her successes.
We are also thrilled to announce that Stephen Kostuk, representing the Pilon School of Business, was recognised as the honourable mention in the 2015 CAFCE Co-op Student of the Year award.
We couldn’t be more proud of both Shauna-Kay and Stephen and will be holding a celebration event to recognize these amazing accomplishments and other exceptional students from all our academic faculties.
Please join us Tuesday, March 29, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm in the Davis Residence conference room. This one-hour celebration is intended as an opportunity for our winners and nominees from a wide variety of academic Co-op programs to share their experiences with college faculty and administrators.
Sheridan Co-op Student Awards will be presented to:
- FAAD: Emily Ceh – Interior Design
- FAST – Computing: Shauna-Kay Jones – CST Software Development
- FAST – Engineering: Chia Wei Huang – Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design & Drafting
- FAHCS: Hayley Parsons, Bachelor of Athletic Therapy
- PSB: Stephen Kostuk, Business Admin – Marketing
Throughout National Co-op Week we will also be focused on recognizing the contribution to student success in Co-op by our partners in the academic faculties, our co-operative education team, and everyone that is involved in making our Co-op programs and our students so successful.
With much appreciation and excitement,
