Sheridan College’s Faculty of Continuing and Professional Studies has recently launched a new one-day workshop titled Demographic Trends in Canada. The workshop will be available Friday April 8, 2016.
This one-day workshop will appeal to everyone who is interested in how Demographics help explain personal and professional experiences in terms of the economy, business, employment, public policy, social programs, etc.
Explore demographic trends in Canada and their impact on businesses, careers, public policy, and the economy. Discover the latest demographic trends that could affect your future over the next twenty years. Twenty years ago demographers alerted us to increasing pressures on health care and the real estate boom.
This workshop introduces and develops skills and abilities to identify and access sources of demographic information, interpret, analyze, and explain demographic data, plus identify demographic trends which can be applied to your career, business, and life planning. Through graphical presentations, guided analysis, and interactive group discussions and activities, you will learn of demographic trends such as the changing age structure, population growth, patterns of migration, and family and household composition.
This workshop is facilitated by Margot Almond, M.Sc. Demography, B.A. Sociology, whose career includes progressive roles within Ontario Ministries including Aboriginal Affairs, Finance, and Attorney General, and within the Management Board Secretariat.
The fee is $250 inc. tax. The workshop will be held at Sheridan College’s Davis Campus: Friday April 8, 2016. We hope to see you there.
