The Office of the Register has unveiled a range of enhancements to its online Transfer Credit and PLAR services.
The online Transfer Credit Service allows students to apply credits earned at another recognized post-secondary institution towards a Sheridan credential. Since its launch in 2013, the service has received 23,890 student requests for advanced standing, establishing a database of 38,303 equivalencies.
The Office of the Registrar continues to develop the service and has just unveiled an enhanced interfaces and functionality for students, OTR staff, and faculty.
New features for students include:
- Ability to reapply for incomplete or expired advanced standing requests
- Auto email with transcript/evaluation details to student
- Support for students applying with WES/ICAS evaluation
- More options for students active in more than one program
- Enhanced view of program map when selecting courses
- Auto email when PLAR request started with next step instructions
With the enhancements Program Coordinator can access:
- New functionality for handling requests with multiple courses
- Added ability for customized advanced standing routing to approvers
- Improved functionality to increase rules in the equivalency database
New features for OTR staff
- Automated email to assessor when PLAR is assigned
- Pathways coordinator has access to updated functions for statistics and data collection
- Ability to reassign PLAR Assessor
