Over the last several years Autodesk has changed their business model to provide free software access for purposes related directly to learning, training, research and /or development.
As a result of this change, use of AutoDesk software to manage educational facilities is no longer included under the educational product license agreement. Those using their software (such as AutoCAD) for the purpose of facility management, operations, and/or maintenance are now required to purchase or subscribe to a commercial license. A full list of AutoDesk products can be found here:
Information Technology is working with Facilities Management to ensure that all staff using the software for non-educational purposes are covered with a commercial license. However, if you are outside of Facilities Management and Information Technology, and using the software for non-educational, commercial purposes, please contact the IT Service Desk to receive information about how you can ensure your license is compliant as soon as possible.
