Thanks to everyone for making Fall Orientation 2016 such a success. Events began at the Hazel McCallion Campus on Monday August 22 and ended at the Trafalgar Campus on Friday September 2nd. Orientation events included 10 smaller sessions at HMC, 2 sessions for joint-programs with York University and University of Toronto Mississauga, 3 Graduate Certificate sessions, and 8 large campus-wide sessions at Davis and Trafalgar. All sessions were well attended, with a full gymnasium at Davis and Trafalgar.
Highlights include:
- Inspiring dances hosted by Sheridan’s Centre for Indigenous Learning and Support during the Marketplace at Davis and Trafalgar
- Creative newspaper towers and monuments built by our talented new Sheridan students during the Orientation Welcome Sessions (including a number of awesome Brunos!)
- Fantastic Faculty and Staff representation at the Davis and Trafalgar Family & Friends sessions, which were strongly attended by parents and guests
- Bruno exhibiting his Sheridan energy and spirit despite the intense heat
- Vibrant Sheridan community atmosphere at the lunch & marketplace
- Our Sheridan peer mentors rising above the call of duty by distributing additional refreshments to Art Fundamental students in the art kit pick-up line Friday evening
- Services coming together to offer new opportunities to connect, such as the cricket match at Davis
Last by not least, a sincere thank you to everyone behind the scenes who helped to make orientation such a success for our incoming Sheridan students and for those on the front lines bearing the blue shirts of Sheridan during Orientation and the start of term.
