“Take Your Kids to Work” day is an annual, nationwide program that helps Grade 9 students develop an appreciation for their parents’ careers, start exploring career options and gain a better understanding of many available career choices. The goal of this program is to give insight into the importance of schools and businesses to promote and support continuous learning and successful transitions into the working world for young people.
Sheridan has planned an interactive morning of events at our Trafalgar campus with activities and learning opportunities for the annual “Take Your Kids to Work Day” on Wednesday November 2, 2016. The day will begin at 8:45am and conclude at 12:00pm and will include several activities including a career education workshop and a unique tour of the Trafalgar campus. For the second half of their day the grade 9 students will return to their parent’s regular workplace and job shadow their parents for the remainder of the day.
If you are an employee with a child in grade 9 and would like to register your child to attend please take a few moments to complete the registration survey by October 19, 2016. Space may be limited. This event is only organized at the Trafalgar campus; parents will be responsible for providing transportation.
