Come one, come all! Let us meet in a good way.
On October 4th, from 5-6pm, we will be gathering at the Oakville Town Square in honour of all missing and murdered Indigenous women & girls. This initiative is in coordination with a national campaign. There will be dozens of communities from the east coast to the west coast together in solidarity. This event is co-hosted by the Women of Halton Action Movement and Sheridan’s Centre for Indigenous Learning and Support.
The violence experienced by Indigenous women and girls in Canada is a national tragedy. Uprooting the causal factors will be a key step forward in the process of healing and reconciliation. May the recently commenced independent inquiry be successful in their endeavors.
Let us pool our prayers, presence and intentions as one to raise awareness and to provide support for families who have lost a loved one.
