On Saturday October 8th, 2016 Police Foundations Professor Tanya Philp participated in the Ironman World Championship in Kailua- Kona. Tanya was one of only 2300 people in the world who qualified to compete in the World Championship.
The Ironman is known as the hardest single day endurance event consisting of 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run. Tanya completed the swim in 1:08:50; the bike in 6:13:12 and the full marathon in 4:17:24. Overall, Tanya finished in a time of 11:52:17.
