Great news! November is only 2 weeks away which means Sheridan is going to get a lot more hairy and a lot more fit! Once again, the Sheridan MoBros are recruiting staff and faculty to join us as we raise awareness for men’s health during our Movember Campaign. 2016 marks the 5th year of our Sheridan team and we have had some beautiful, creepy, charming and downright hilarious moustaches over the past four years, so let’s make sure year 5 is a knockout!
What is it?
The Movember Campaign raises awareness and funding focusing on 4 urgent issues:
- Men’s health (on average, Canadian men die around 6 years younger than women)
- Prostate Cancer (on average, 11 Canadian men die of prostate cancer every day)
- Testicular Cancer (is the most common form of cancer among men age 15-29)
- Suicide Prevention (on average, 7 men each day take their life through suicide in Canada)
Movember takes place between November 1-30.
How can you get involved:
Remember, Movember is not just for men; everybody can participate:
Take the MOVE challenge:
- Challenge yourself to get physically active, have fun and raise funds for men’s health.
Grow a moustache:
- For 30 days of November, Mo Bros take action by growing their moustache to become walking talking billboards for men’s health. Mo Sistas sign up and commit to supporting the men in their lives by spreading the word about Movember.
The Sheridan MoBros are proud to be members of the Big Mo’ On Campus network which saw over 10,000 Canadian post-secondary staff/faculty and students raise $1.2 million in 2015.
