Let’s take a break from work and enjoy the outdoors! HMC’s Green team will lead a nature walk on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 12-1 pm. In this guided walk we will explore Kariya Park. Located at the heart of Mississauga, this park offers tranquility to a busy city life. It features a Japanese style garden that highlights a Gatehouse Entrance adorned with irises and a zigzag boardwalk which passes through cherry trees, ponds and a pavilion. Named after the sister Japanese city, its symbol includes a wild goose (kari) about to take flight and a figure eight (ya), both symbolic of future development.
Those interested in joining this leisure walk may register in advance to samir.muhamedagic@sheridancollege.ca and vikram.saili@sheridancollege.ca We will meet by the Living Wall at noon and depart shortly after everyone is present. We recommend that you pre-register to receive a reminder notice and in case an alternate date is needed, due to inclement weather.

Come out for a breath of fresh air and take in the fall colours before they are gone! We will explore the paved footpaths following Fletcher’s Creek just north of campus, a natural area seldom used by Sheridan staff and students.
Rumors abound about a family of Beavers that reside in the Sheridan pond, and while you may not have seen them in person, their presence is evident from a beaver-chewed willow along the path. Mallard ducks are also known to frequent that stretch of the creek as well.
Come join us immediately outside the cafeteria at 1:00 on October 28th, and make sure to dress according to the weather. Should it be raining that day, an alternate date will be determined for some time in early November.
To RSVP, or for further information on the nature walk or other Green Team activities at Davis, please contact Dave Clark at extension 5064, or by email at dave.clark1@sheridancollege.ca.
