The Fall 2016 Professional Development Session of the Ontario Colleges Mathematics Association was hosted by the school of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Technology at Sheridan College. The November 14 event was attended by faculty members from Mohawk, Humber, Seneca, Fleming, Centennial, George Brown and Sheridan amongst other institutions. Shaun Iles from Mohawk College presented, “Gamification is Easier Than You Think.” In this presentation, Shaun explained how gamification was different from game based education, provided examples of how to utilize game elements in the digital classroom, and discussed some of the successes and shortfalls of gamification in his classroom.
