I am delighted to announce that as of January 3rd, 2017 Ricardo Hoar will be the new Associate Dean of Applied Computing for the Trafalgar campus.
Ricardo comes to Sheridan with a range of professional experience in the IT field and a decade of experience as an associate professor of computer science at Mount Royal University in Calgary. Ricardo’s passion for applied computing can be seen in his publication record, entrepreneurial ventures and teaching interests. He is the co-author of Fundamentals of Web Development, a textbook adopted by over 100 institutions to date.
As the Chair of Mathematics and Computing at Mount Royal University, Ricardo currently leads a diverse range of academics and technical staff. His leadership philosophy is highly collaborative, building on the expertise and passion of his faculty and students.
Ricardo obtained his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in computer science from the University of Calgary and is currently completing his doctorate in Educational Leadership at Western University.
