Alumni from animation and media arts are once again nominated for Annie Awards, the industry’s top honour. The International Animated Film Society-Hollywood will hand out the awards in February at a gala in Los Angeles, California.
Congratulations to this year’s nominees:
Piper, a short film directed by alumnus Alan Barillaro (Animation, 1996), is nominated for best animated short subject.
Trevor Dalmer, (Bachelor of Animation, 2009) for outstanding achievement, production design in an animated feature production, for Kubo and the Two Strings.
Trevor Jimenez, (Bachelor of Animation, 2007), for his work in Finding Dory. Jimenez is nominated in the outstanding achievement, storyboarding in an animated feature production category.
Normand Lemay, (Animation, 2004), for outstanding achievement, storyboarding in an animated feature production in Moana.
Cedric Lo, (Bachelor of Animation, 2009) and Stephen Rawlins, (Computer Animation, 1997) are each nominated for their work in Captain America Civil War. They have received nominations for outstanding achievement, character animation in a live action production.
Michael Marcuzzi, (Media Arts, 2004), outstanding achievement, animated effects in a live action production for his work on Dr. Strange.
Sheridan alumni also contributed to other films nominated in the best animated feature category, including Finding Dory, Moana, Kung Fu Panda 3 and Zootopia.
