It’s an exciting day for Sheridan as we open the doors to the many students, faculty and staff that will call the new HMC B-wing home. Thank you to the countless members of the Sheridan community who have so worked hard on this project, especially those who ensured the smooth execution of contingency plans during this past term. We are happy to share that the building was completed on budget, due to the fixed-price contract.
As classes begin today, below please find some useful information about the resources and programs at HMC B-wing. Please note that some areas of the building, such as the cafeteria, print shop and Tim Hortons are still being finalized and there will continue to be work in these areas as classes begin. The Facilities team will endeavour to minimize disruptions to day-to-day operations within the building as this work progresses.
- Building entrances are located at:
- South – Duke of York & Square One Drive (across from HMC A-wing)
- North – Rathburn and Duke of York
- West – off the City Parking Lot (Orange Feature Stairs are visible from outside)
- Bridge – located on Level 3 connecting to HMC1 at Level 3 as well (only indoor connection)
- Elevators are located at the North entrance behind the Creativity Gallery, and immediately inside the South entrance.
- Stairs are located at the north, south, and centre of the building (orange feature stairs), connecting Levels 1 to 5.
- Washrooms:
- Level 1: located at the north end of the building (follow the signs)
- Level 2 to 5: located at both the north end and south ends of the building
- A universal washroom is located Level 1 next to orange stairs.
- Water fountains are located adjacent or across from the washrooms
- Bike storage and showers are located at the North end of Level 1.
- The temporary bookstore is located on Level 1, room B122, beside the orange feature stairs.
- The Creative Campus Complex, which includes the Creative Campus Gallery, is located on Level 2, just off the central orange stairs.
- The Material ConneXion Library, a collection of innovative, cutting-edge materials curated for our Architectural Technician, Interior Design and Craft & Design students, is located on Level 4, Room, B410
- The Resource Centre, which houses finish samples for Interior Design, Interior Decorating, Visual Merchandising Arts and Architectural Technology students, is located on Level 4, room B442.
- Multiple Academic Printing Stations are located on each floor.
- Faculty Offices:
- Faculty of Continuing and Professional Studies: B320 suite (located on Level 3 at the orange stairs, east side of building, Square One Mall view)
- Faculty of Applied Science and Technology: B420 suite (located on Level 4 at the orange Stairs, east side of building, Square One mall view)
- Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design: B520 suite (located on Level 5 at the orange stairs east side of building, Square One mall view)
- Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences: B580 suite (located on Level 5 at the orange stairs, west side of building, City parking lot view)
- The Sheridan Student Union has relocated to HMC A-wing Level 3, just beside the bridge.
