The project to reinvent Access Sheridan just took a major step forward, with the wrap up of a competitive RFP process and the selection of a vendor in December, as well as meetings earlier this month to kick off the discovery phase.
The vendor, Non Linear Corporation (NLC), is working with the Sheridan team to fully understand our requirements and expectations for the new portal. Needs and interests were gathered through an online survey conducted in 2014 with all staff and employees, by gathering the business requirements of stakeholder groups at the college, and by asking different areas of the college to conduct an audit of their content on Access Sheridan. Additionally, draft wireframes were created based on the information we gathered. Each of these pieces has been shared with the vendor. Discussions are concurrently beginning with respect to application integration, governance, measurement, and the creation of new content for the platform, which currently does not exist on Access Sheridan.
The intent is to have Phase I of the site ready to pilot this fall. Stay tuned to the Insider for more updates in the coming months, as progress continues.
