Sheridan’s Applied Chemical and Environmental Science’s collaboration project with Drystill Holdings won the York Chapter Professional Engineers Ontario Project of the Year Award for the Small Company category!

The PEO York Chapter is one of the largest chapters of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) with a significant engineering presence. The Engineering Project of the Year Award is their opportunity to strengthen relationships with high-tech companies and businesses in the region.

The objective of the Engineering Project of the Year Award is to recognize the contribution by an organization that has undertaken or completed an outstanding technical project within the past year. Sheridan’s collaboration with Drystill Holdings produced Pass-Through Distillation – The Bioeconomy Game-Changer, a project that won the PEO York Chapterís Project of the Year Award for a small company. Winners of the medium-sized company award was Mircom for The Making of an Intelligent Building and for a large-sized company was the Toronto Transit Commission for the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension.

All project submissions were evaluated for their quality in each of four categories including Innovation, Technical Merit and Distinction, Sustainability and Commercial Viability and Impact to the York Region & Neighbouring Communities.

The first place winners attended the Awards Gala and presented their projects to the audience. Winners received a commemorative plaque, complimentary invitations to the Gala for two, the option of either a complimentary table for eight at the Gala OR a gift card to a restaurant of their choice to celebrate with their project team, and a promotional article of their winning project on the Awards section of PEO York Chapter website.

Congratulations to the School of Applied Chemical and Environmental Sciences and to Drystill Holdings for a wonderful accomplishment!
