Alumnus wins Oscar
Congratulations to Sheridan alumnus Alan Barillaro (Animation ’96), winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. Barillaro directed Piper, a film about a baby bird on its first venture out of the nest. In a CBC Radio interview, Barillaro talked about getting his start at Sheridan. Listen to the interview.

Sheridan alumni take home Canadian Screen Awards
In March, two Sheridan alumni took home Canada’s most prestigious media prizes. Kieran McKay (Computer Animation ’09) won Best Visual Effects for the program Vikings: The Last Ship. John Simpson (Media Arts ’05) won for Best Talk Program or Series for The Marilyn Denis Show. Read more.
