Earth Day is this Saturday and as part of our Earth Day/Earth Week celebrations, Sheridan will be hosting a Sustainability Conference on Wednesday, April 26. As an academic institution, employer, and community partner, Sheridan strives to become the institutional model for how a 21st century organization embraces sustainability.
This conference is organized by the Office of Procurement with input from the Office for Sustainability.
The conference will include presentations from four companies that are recognized in Canada and throughout the world as leaders in sustainability. If you are interested in attending one or all of the sessions please feel free to drop in.

Location: S235 Lecture hall, SCAET building, Trafalgar Campus
Each of the four companies will deliver a concise 50-60 minute presentation focusing on:
- How their company defines sustainability and how sustainability is embedded into their culture.
- How their procurement team ensures that they work with vendors that are focused on sustainable operations, and how they support these vendors.
- The strategic initiatives their firm has taken with respect to sustainability, including how they are reducing materials and concentrations of harmful substances.
- How they are providing sustainability leadership within their industry and helping their clients become more sustainable.
- Their Canadian resources and corporate social responsibility initiatives focused on sustainability.
The goal of the conference is to give attendees a better understanding of the broad scope of sustainable initiatives undertaken by world-class market leaders. There will be representatives at the conference from over 15 colleges and universities across the Province.
