This past Saturday and Sunday a class full of professors came in very early to participate in an intensive professional development course on the IELTS test. The Department of Workforce Development in the Faculty of Continuing and Professional Studies gathered a group of dedicated Sheridan faculty members from our LINC and ESL programs, along with ESL faculty from George Brown College. The British Council, one of the co-owners of the IELTS test, sent a team of trainers to run the session which is designed to support the teaching of IELTS to English language learners. This session should lead to more accurate, thoughtful classroom materials and activities. It’s great to see such dedicated professors continuing to learn.
