Last week, Sheridan hosted the annual Ontario College Council of Chief Information Officers conference at the Trafalgar Campus. The Information Technology team would like to thank our students and employees for the hospitality, patience and understanding they exhibited to our visitors from across the province and to our team in hosting the conference. We’d especially like to recognize the following areas, who were instrumental in assisting Sheridan to organize this multi-day event:
- Facilities Management -making sure spaces were cleaned, A/C was working and paint touch ups were completed due to the recent removal of pay telephones;
- Shipping/Receiving – allowing us to use their space to assemble participant bags, delivering and setting up tables and chairs as needed, and for delivering items ordered for the conference
- Cafeteria and Chartwells – providing delicious meals that were presented in a highly professional and stylish way;
- FAAD – for providing Special Effects students, Green Screen Photographers, Caricature Drawers, Gaming Students, Theatre Performers, Technicians, faculty members and the use of the Theatre;
- Scheduling – assisting us with booking spaces;
- Conference Services – allowing use of the Conference Centre and Bar Services;
- OneCard Office – setting up all the Vendor tap machines for the draws, providing and programming all the participant OneCards and providing a final report for vendors that showed who visited their booths;
- Security / Parking Office – assisting with directional signage, welcoming guests, monitoring parking lots, and providing complimentary dash passes for each participant;
- Residence Front Desk – providing friendly service, quick check-in, welcome in each room plus a complimentary tin of mints for each participant;
- Library Staff – allowing us to use the front half of the library for the food service;
- FCAPS office – relocating one, closing Tim Hortons early but providing complimentary coffee for students;
- Print Shop – working late a few nights to finalize and print materials required for the participant bags;
- The Sheridan Student Union;
- Conference and Events;
- the I.T. Department
This was a fantastic event and showcased the excellence, hospitality and creativity of our students, employees and Sheridan College.
