Sheridan College is establishing a new taskforce specifically devoted to completing a needs analysis regarding sexual and gender diversity issues across our campuses. This Taskforce is a short term working group and precursor to larger diversity initiatives. The Taskforce will perform a needs analysis to help identify gaps and priorities as articulated by members of the Sheridan community and author a report of recommendations. This report will be provided to the Advisory Group as appointed by Executive and will directly inform the development of future initiatives.

Key to the success of the Taskforce is a diversity of voices and experiences. The Taskforce strives for representation from a wide range of areas across the College, including staff and students from all campuses, disciplines and social locations. Interested applicants should submit a short expression of interest detailing their interest in advancing an inclusive community for LGBTT2SQQIAA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, 2-Spirited, Questioning, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, Ally) persons by February 24th to diversitytaskforce@sheridancollege.ca. Employees are also requested to submit a separate acknowledgement of application from their manager.

The Taskforce’s work is intended to begin in March and be complete by summer 2014. Meeting locations will rotate to accommodate all participants with teleconferencing made available where possible. Questions regarding the Taskforce can be submitted to diversitytaskforce@sheridancollege.ca.

Thank you,
