Our Davis Green Team and Mission Zero Volunteers are coming out for a campus cleanup event next Thursday October 5. We are looking for more volunteers to join us. As a volunteer, you will help us pick up litter that has accumulated over the last few months around the pond and the peripheral areas around the campus property.
Everyone, including staff, faculty and students, is welcome to volunteer. This event not only helps the environment, but also provides an opportunity for participants to get active and meet other members of the Sheridan community!
What to expect?
At the start time of the event, we will provide directions on where to pick up the litter and safety instructions. Gloves and bags will be handed out. Waste will be collected in three streams.
Participants will be encouraged to go out in small groups.
Based on your availability, you can participate from 30 minutes up to more than an hour. We will wrap up the event at 1:30pm. Please dress for the weather. It is a good idea to wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants and closed toe comfortable shoes.
Group Awards
- Heaviest total weight of items collected
- Finding the most unusual waste item
