The Athletics and Recreation department hosted two events over the weekend that celebrated 50 years of Double-Blue. Hosted at the Oakville Conference Centre, the Night of Champions was a celebration of Sheridan’s most accomplished Bruins, as members of all OCAA, OCFL and CCAA championship teams, as well has Hall of Fame inductees, were invited home to reminisce with teammates and friends, and celebrate their accomplishments.
They also had the opportunity to purchase personalized championship rings, which were awarded during the evening. Championship rings for the 2017 OCAA Champion men’s basketball team were also presented during the evening.
The next day, the Trafalgar Campus was host to Homecoming 2017 festivities. Seven Bruin teams were in action on home turf — with the other three in road commitments. The all-day event kicked off with the men’s rugby team improving to 3-0 on the season, and included rivalry soccer games against Humber, as well as the debuts of the varsity basketball and volleyball teams, playing against Alumni teams.
