Overview The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) of Ontario has released guidelines regarding the use of instant messaging and personal email accounts to conduct business. Sheridan’s Acceptable Use Policy currently provides that “All employees will only use their Sheridan e-mail addresses for email correspondence”. The IPC guidance document outlines appropriate conduct regarding the use of instant messaging and personal email accounts for any employees of institutions subject to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
