Following the retirement of Lynne Murray this month, whose long service as Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design’s Gallery Co-ordinator will be deeply missed, we are delighted to be in a position to announce our newest Gallery Co-ordinator, Thea Haines.
Thea is a longstanding Sheridanite, having graduated from the Textiles Studio in the Crafts and Design program in 2006. She went on to complete a Masters (with distinction) in Textiles, at the Chelsea College of Art& Design in London, UK before returning to us to teach in the Textiles program, which she has done since 2011. Thea also has a thriving practice, and widely exhibits her work in textiles.
When Lynne was on leave last year, Thea admirably filled her shoes to run the Gallery and act as studio technologist for Illustration and Art Fundamentals. Thea now returns as the permanent, full time FAAD Gallery Co-ordinator. As such, she will continue to lead the Gallery, working with our redoubtable installation expert Jamie Owen; help plan student and faculty exhibitions there and across the Trafalgar campus; provide leadership to student-led exhibitions, and provide technical support to the Illustration and Art Fundamentals studios.
The Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design is thrilled to have Thea on board.
