Sheridan is pleased to participate in the provincial KPI Student Satisfaction Survey, which will be administered during regular classes from March 12 – 30, 2018. All faculty members involved in this survey will be contacted directly by their Faculty administrative offices with further instructions.
This survey asks a series of questions to determine how satisfied students are with their program of study, the college’s services, and the overall learning environment. It is not an evaluation of any specific course, subject or teacher.
All information gathered through this survey will remain completely confidential in every respect. Completed surveys are sent to an independent consultant hired by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development. Only the cumulative results of all completed surveys are made available.
The KPI Student Satisfaction Survey is one of five Key Performance Indicators used by the provincial government to measure college performance. The other four are graduate satisfaction, graduate employment, employer satisfaction, and graduation rate. Graduate employment, graduate satisfaction and employer satisfaction KPIs are used by the ministry to distribute performance funding to colleges.
While the KPI Student Satisfaction Survey is not currently used in determining performance-based funding, the survey is an important tool for measuring how well Ontario colleges meet the needs of students and the marketplace. The data collected is extremely important and is used for official program reviews, degree accreditation and degree renewals by the ministry and the college.
