Each spring the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) gathers data on degree students’ experience across US and Canadian colleges and universities. This information provides Sheridan an opportunity to learn about how our students view their Sheridan experience. The survey results help Sheridan to better understand how students spend their time and what they gain from college through a variety of topics such as:
- Academics – “64% of first year students reported that their courses ‘highly’ challenged them to do their best work.”
- Experiences with Faculty – “62% of first year students gave the quality of their interactions with faculty a ‘high’ rating.”
- Learning with Peers – “72% of seniors ‘frequently’ explained course material to one or more students.”
- Campus Environments – “89% of first year and 78% of seniors rated their entire education experience at this institution as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’.”
- Rich Education Experiences – “By spring of their senior year 93% of students had participated in some form of internship, co-op, field experience, student teaching, or clinical placement.”
*results based upon the NSSE 2013 Survey
The survey runs from March 4th to May 30th and is completed online. Students will be sent emails directly to their Sheridan accounts with directions for completing the survey.
