Art Hive at Trafalgar Library
Date: Thursday, April 12
Time: 11:00 am-3:00 pm
Location: Trafalgar Library
Facilitator: Susan Beniston
Get Creative! Experiment with art materials to increase your health and well-being! Join us at Trafalgar Library to experience the transformative power of shared creativity at Sheridan’s Art Hive.
Everyone’s invited to upcycle/re-cycle arts and crafts materials, build community, and generate positive vibes that increase our sustainability buzz, too. Drop-ins are welcome. Stay for five minutes or the full time.
An Art Hive is based on the idea of an open studio space. It welcomes everyone as an artist, supporting them in the exploration of their creative capacity and aiming to build a stronger, more inclusive community through the process of art-making.
From an art pop-up in a local library to a community studio or gallery, at its heart, an Art Hive is about inclusion, respect and learning. It’s a welcoming place to talk, make art and build communities.
Art Fundamentals Professor, Susan Beniston, will guide participants’ creative adventures with art materials in a community of students, faculty, and staff.
Inspirational materials from the Library’s Material ConneXion collection are also featured. Sheridan’s Material ConneXion collection features over 1,000 samples sourced world-wide by Material ConneXion, a global leader in material innovation and sustainability.
