An exciting expansion of Sheridan’s Hazel McCallion Campus is anticipated to begin in the coming weeks!
Students and employees at HMC may begin to see equipment arriving onsite later this week to prepare for preliminary construction work on the new Student and Athletics Expansion.
The new building will connect directly to the north end of HMC B-Wing, parallel to Rathburn Road. The expected completion date for the HMC Student and Athletics Expansion is Fall 2019.
The building will feature a range of amenities and athletic facilities, including student lounges, food outlets, and games areas; dedicated rooms for student groups, the Sheridan Student Union, and clubs activities; fitness rooms, and an elevated indoor running track. The upper level will also house a large meeting space that will house the Sheridan Senate, and can be reconfigured by other groups when the Senate is not in session.
Shoring, excavation and waterproofing work for the building foundation is anticipated to begin in the coming weeks. Regular updates will be provided to our HMC students and employees as construction-related noise or access restrictions occur.
