In her new role, Lisa will assume full Associate Dean responsibilities for the Human Resources Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Graduate Certificate programs, as well as the BBA in Human Resources and the Office Administration programs.
Professor Mendez first joined Sheridan in 2008 teaching in PSB’s Office Administration – Health, Legal and Executive programs and also served as an Academic Adviser, and since 2013 has been the Coordinator of the Office Administration cluster.
Lisa has earned a Master of Science in Education from Niagara University and a Bachelor of Business and Economics from Brock University. She began her working career in 1989 as a secondary school teacher at Holy Cross Secondary School in St. Catharines. She was a Seminar Leader at Brock University and Department Head of Intra-School Co-Instructional Activities at Holy Cross Secondary School.
In 1995, Lisa made a career change to Office Manager of a large Multi-Doctor Medical Specialty Practice in Massachusetts, where she supervised the day-to-day operations, marketing and promotion, budgets along with training, staff development and evaluation.
Since joining Sheridan, Lisa has been involved in a number of committee activities as a Senate member of Local Academic Council, including membership on committees on teaching and learning, academic integrity and grading policies.
Lisa brings both a strong academic and industry background to the position that will support and strengthen our PSB team. She begins her new assignment July 30th.
