Here are a few tips and tricks from Microsoft for getting more out of Windows 10.
- Simply select the battery icon in the taskbar and use the slider to choose your performance and battery balance.
- Press the Windows logo key and type the name of whatever you want to find in the search box.
- To switch between open windows, hold down the Alt key and keep pressing Tab until the window you want is selected. Then, release the Alt key.
- Press the Windows logo key + D to minimize all your open windows and go right to your desktop.
- Stop notifications from showing during a presentation by turning on Hide notifications when I’m duplicating my screen. Or, keep them from showing on your lock screen when you’re not logged in by turning off Show notifications on the lock screen.
IT Services has been rolling out the Windows 10 operating system across Sheridan College for students, in teaching and learning spaces and upon request for faculty and staff for supported hardware over the past two years. And so far, the feedback has been awesome! If you are in an Admin area and are expecting new hardware, you can also expect that machine to be running Windows 10.
